Conference Participation Award
Application period: December 1, 2023 – January 15, 2024
Eligibility criteria and application
The Graduate School is committed to helping graduate students achieve their academic, professional, and personal goals during their time at the University of Connecticut. In support of this goal, The Graduate School offers a one-time $750 Conference Participation Award (formerly known as the Doctoral Student Travel Award) to support doctoral and MFA students’ ability to present their research at national or international meetings and conferences, including both in-person and virtual events. Applications will be accepted from December 1, 2023, to January 15, 2024. If the student is awarded, the funds will be paid through their Spring 2024 fee bill.
Details about this award have been posted in the Grad Announcements emails for graduate students and will continue be shared throughout the entirety of the application period. Please feel free to forward this information on to your doctoral and MFA grads.
Please note a new clarification added to the eligibility criteria, underlined below:
- The applicant must have successfully completed at least 30 credits toward their degree program prior to applying for this fellowship unless their program requires less than 30 credits with a prior master’s degree.
-
- If a student has attained a master’s degree from another university and their program only requires 15 doctoral credits with a master’s degree, they qualify for eligibility upon completion of all 15 credits.
- We have compiled a list of programs that appear to have fit this criterion based on the Graduate Catalog. You can view this list here! If your department is not listed but meets the criteria above, please email jack.corcoran@uconn.edu to be added.
If you have any additional questions, please reach out to gradschool@uconn.edu.
